  • Rolando Puno, MD

    Dr. Rolando Puno, Board Certified orthopedic surgeon, is currently a faculty member of the Norton Leatherman Spine Center and of the University of Louisville’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and medical director of the Department’s Orthopaedics Biomechanics Laboratory. He is the principal developer of the world’s first poly-axial spinal pedicle screw, currently the industry standard for most spinal fixation implants used around the world. Dr. Puno is a co-founder of Intellirod Spine.

  • Ric Navarro

    Mr. Navarro is the President & CEO of Intellirod Spine He has over 25 years of medical device and implant experience in artificial hearts, wheelchairs, operating room equipment and spinal implants. Most recently he served as the VP and Site Manager for Integra LifeSciences spine division in Akron, Ohio. Prior to that he was in senior management at Theken Spine and was a co-founder and VP R&D for Theken Disc, a company that developed the first lumbar artificial disc to incorporate microelectronics. In addition he has held senior engineering, quality, and operations roles with Integra, Biomec, Allen Medical Systems, AcroMed and the Cleveland Clinic.

    Mr. Navarro holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Ohio State University and an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College. He is also an inventor on 23 patents and has commercialized numerous spine and operating room products.

  • Dr. George Picha

    Dr. Picha is a board certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with over 25 years in practice. He was fellowship trained at University Hospitals in Cleveland and received his M.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He also has a PhD from CWRU in Biomaterials with additional degrees in Bioengineering and Biology. In addition to being a consultant to companies such as Dow Corning, Baxter Healthcare and Gore & Associates, he is the President and CEO of Applied Medical Technology, a Class II medical device company focused on the GI market with sales in over 30 countries. Dr. Picha is a prolific inventor with over 50 patents and numerous peer reviewed publications.

  • Pete Baszuk

    Pete Baszuk brings over 20 years’ experience bringing high technology products to a global market. With an electrical engineering background, Pete has led development for medical products that incorporated motion control, sensing and wireless connectivity solutions. Pete received his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Technology (BEET) from Electronic Technology Institute in Cleveland, Ohio.
